Industrial Pharmacy

I am a hospital pharmacist currently practising in Canada. I have passed the HK pharmacist licensing exams and am interested in moving towards industrial pharmacy in HK.
Can anyone please tell me what the prospects are in working at pharmaceutical companies in Hong Kong? Are there any certificate/diploma courses offered in HK which I can take to familiarize with the HK GMP standards and drug regulations? Thanks in advance.

Industrial Pharmacy in Hong Kong
You are a hospital pharmacist. How come you would like to pursue your career in industrial pharmacy in Hong Kong? Anyway, I'll try to give you some background information on the current situation.
You may work in multinational companies the manufacturing plant of which resides in overseas or local manufacturing companies the manufacturing plant is normally stationed in Hong Kong. For multinational companies, pharmacists may work in medical and regulatory affairs, clinical trials, sales and marketing, etc. But I guess your interest is in local manufacturers since you mentioned about GMP. For local manufacturing companies, their core business is to manufacture generic products. There are around 20 manufacturers with GMP certification in Hong Kong. The prospects I would say is good because there are lots of business opportunities after you have obtained the GMP status and most of the manufacturers, as far as I know, is expanding. The business can outreach to overseas as well as the tremendous market in China. Postwise, you may work in production, QC, QA, R&D, sales and marketing.
There is no formal courses on GMP or drug regulations. There were courses on GMP offered by HKIB in the past few years but they no longer offer such courses. There is a short course offered by PSHK on drug regulation which runs every year during the summer time. By the way, there is a certificate course offered by HKU SPACE and the course structure involves GMP and drug regulation. The course targets those perople working in health and pharmaceutical related field and of course the level is not for pharmacists. I guess the best channel is self learning and on the job training.
Hope the above can give your some background information.
