I am a Chinese Malaysia, graduated from Uk with Master of Pharmacy and had registered with the Malaysia Board of Pharmacy. Recently i am interested to pursue my career in HK, thus i need to know what i should do in order to get a job as a pharmacist, regardless as a community or hospital pharmacist.I do not know who is the right body i can make enquires from regarding the registration for HK pharmacist licence. Apart from that, could anyone tell me does HK community or hospital pharmacy employ foreign pharmacist and how is the salary like? Please help!!!
A great thanks in advance for giving me clues regarding my uncertainties.
Thanks.

registration as a pharmacist..

if you want to practise as a pharmacist in HK, you need to pass the pharmacy exam.. you can refer this link http://www.drugnet.com.hk/ which is very informative. The exam is held in June and December every year . if you want to sit the exam in June, you need to apply by the end of March... you can buy the pass paper from the Hong Kong Pharmacy and Poisons Board.. it costs around HKD 220 to get the 3 papers over the past 10 years (approximately). Hope this helps..

Stephen

thanks

Dear Stephen,

I am so glad that you gave me a prompt reply. Thanks again for your informative reference.I will check it up for sure.If you dont mind me asking, how is the role of pharmacist in comuunity and hospital pharmacy.Does Hk practice strong OTC recommendation to patients and are the prices for the medicine in each community pharmacy fix or bargaining is always an issue?Lastly, how is the pay between hopsital and commuity pharmacy? I read from the forum is about
hk$ 30000, is this the true amount?
I need to consider the expenses and my making profit before i make my decision to fly to Hk and start a living.

Thanks, looking forward to hearing replies :)
